The movie “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”Its $42 million ticket sales in three days made it the most talked about event. Young musicians don’t have to be all about Broadway-style choreography or gee-whiz innocence. Some musicians are not even qualified to take the SATs.

The history of music shows that even young musicians can create legendary bands. U2 is a rock band that has been regarded as one of the greatest in history. Larry Mullen, Adam Clayton, Bono and the Edge started playing together in high school, as part of a Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute band.

The OC Music Fest is a three-day music festival in Irvine, Calif., that hopes to bring 20,000 to 60,000 people to the city in May 2009. It also supports up-and-coming acts. Many bands playing the OC Music Fest will have at least one high school member.

Last Minute Band brings youthful energy onto every stage where they perform. Ryan Pino and Paul Runco are founding members. They have been playing together ever since the 7th Grade. While Kiven’s members are now freshmen at the University of Southern California (UCLA), Kiven’s drummer Teddy Boldt is still a student at El Toro High School. Chris Yeo, Chad Young and Sean Alexander were all musicians as children.

Kiven and The Jonas Brothers, a young group, are not only a part of the Jonas Brothers. Nick, the youngest brother, is still in high school. However, that hasn’t stopped Nick from writing mature and emotive lyrics. One of the tracks is on the Jonas Brothers’ newest album. “A Little Bit Longer,”Talks about Nicholas’ struggles with Type 1 Diabetes

The Raymies, an act that has performed at large shows and was featured on the show, are The Raymies. “According to Jim,”There are members who are still in grade school. Justine Ruiz (12 years old) may have been onstage with John Stamos and the Beach Boys, but she blogs about English class and her experiences meeting her teachers. “My goal is to keep a clean and organized locker all year. No trash pushed to the back. Ha ha!”

Others bands started in high school. Eve 6, which was disbanded in 2004, is planning to return to music. While all its members were still in highschool, the band recorded its first hit, the self-titled debut album.
