()Lifetime’s Winter slate of Hot Stories features several of the most famous women in pop culture: Wendy Williams, Salt-N-Pepa and Whitney Houston.
The programming will begin on January 23rd at 8 PM ET/PT “Salt-N-Pepa,”This original Lifetime movie is a three-hour-long documentary about the pioneering hip-hop duo. It starts with their days at Queensborough Community College as students and ends with their first recordings.
The story tells the story of the duo’s incredible success as the first female rapper group to reach platinum. “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “What a Man,” “Shoop,”And “Push It.”
The movie explores Salt-N-Pepa’s influence on hip-hop culture with their frank lyrics regarding men and sex which paved the way to future female rappers. Cheryl is played by GG Townson. “Salt”Sandra with James Odom and Laila “Pepa” Denton.
Following the movie, the Emmy® and NAACP award-winning Loni Love hosts a documentary, “Let’s Talk About Salt-N-Pepa,”This exclusive interview features interviews with Salt, Pepa and other musicians about their partnership and how they continue to influence the music world.
Next, January 30th “Wendy Williams: The Movie”Airs as the first biopic on Wendy Williams, outspoken TV host and self-proclaimed “Biography Queen”, “Queen of all Media.”
Wendy Williams executive produced the movie. It tells her story from her beginnings as an urban radio host to how she overcomes professional and personal obstacles to reach her goal of starting her own syndicated talkshow. Despite all the obstacles and naysayers Wendy has faced in her life, her determination and strength have allowed her success. Ciera plays Wendy Williams and Morocco Omari is Wendy’s ex husband, Kevin Hunter.
Documentar follows the film. “Wendy Williams: What a Mess!”In which Ms. Williams gives an honest and raw interview.
Finally “Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina: Didn’t We Almost Have it All,”Two-hour documentary about Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristana will be shown on February 6. It explores their emotional stories and parallels, including the pressures and addictions that come with being in the public eye.
