In his teens, he had memorized more than 15,000 songs in The American Songbook (recorded during The “Golden Age of Popular Music”1920-1960 “I’m fascinated and believe this is the greatest music ever recorded,”Oleg explained. “I’m not sure anyone could love or know its history more than I do.”
Fast forward to 2012, and the dream-come-true duets album is recorded and released by the budding singer with 10 of his idols. “Oleg Frish, Duets With My American Idols.”The 15-track opus is a collection of standards. It includes an introduction from Connie Francis, duets featuring Bobby Rydell, Gary U. S. Bonds and Lainie Kasan, as well as duets performed with Tony Orlando, Melissa Manchester (his last known recording), Lou Christie, B. J. Thomas and Peggy March. There are also four solo performances by Oleg. “I’m so grateful to have recorded with such amazing artists,”He said. “Every day in the studio I pinched myself to make sure it was for real.”
Oleg began his journey to fulfill lifelong dreams in 1991 when he moved from Russia to New York. He soon settled in Brooklyn. Later, he partnered up with RTVi (Russian Television International), in order to be the first Russian host of his talk show.
It was his 20th year anniversary. He has interviewed over 2000 music celebrities and stars in that time span: James Brown, B.B.
