Many people have managed to turn their failings and flaws into multi-million-dollar records and platinum-selling albums.
It appears that the greater the difficulty associated with an artist, the better the sales. At least, that is the truth.
Enter DMXEarl Simmons (aka Ruff Ryders legend) is a 40 year-old rapper, who on the surface appears to be a poster boy for hip hop’s bad-boy sentiment. Now, it’s a renaissance guy.
After nearly a decade in legal troubles and drug problems, the beleaguered rapper was arrested in Arizona in 2010. He was charged with violating parole. Last summer, he was released a few months sooner than expected and has now completed his seventh studio album, entitled “Undisputed,”Swizz Beatz is the husband of Alicia Keys.
“X is one of the kings of hip-hop. As his recent live shows have demonstrated, he is at the top of his game, and is bigger and badder than ever,”Jason Fowler, DMX’s manager and friend, commented. “The release of ‘Undisputed’ is something that X has been working at for quite some time and, as a hip-hop artist, it is an album he is extremely proud of.”
DMX’s single was released by Seven Arts Music, his new label. “I Don’t Dance,”Machine Gun Kelly featuring — Both of which received extensive radio play before the actual album dropped.
