Third album from Swizz Beatz “Haute Living,” released last summer, includes an eclectic mix of rock, hip-hop, and R&B stars such as Bono and Lenny Kravitz, Jay-Z and Kanye West and John Legend.
Beatz says that this album is a far cry form his first collaboration with hip-hop artist and current renaissanceman DMX.
They collaborated together in the late 1990s when X was part hip-hop’s notorious Ruff Ryders. Their aggressive sound led to multi-platinum success.
DMX’s famed legal issues have slowed down his music career. But X is now ready for more with Big Jake Music, an independent label. Beatz hasn’t forgotten about his friend of over a decade.
Beatz has recently produced X’s seventh studio album to underline his loyalty. “Undisputed,”It includes hip-hop heavy hitters like the late Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls).
Of DMX’s comeback attempt, Beatz said, “Expect the unexpected. Expect the new and improved. Expect hip-hop. Expect real music. Expect the Dog to be back.”
