Despite their talent, certain bands fail to get the recognition they deserve. However, others are quick to grab jetpacks and explode onto the scene.
Rock band Dead SaraThis is the case for me. A gritty, female-fronted garage group that established their own record label in order to keep their original, unforgiving sound. One of the first jam sessions as a band that produced its hit single? Severe impact.
Since their conception, Dead Sara has broken new ground and created waves. The band made waves with their self-titled debut album, and a tour with Chevelle. Some have called it the revival of rock ‘n roll.

Grace Slick, of Jefferson Airplane, named Emily Armstrong, Dead Sara’s lead vocalist, in the Wall Street Journal. Courtney Love flew Armstrong from New York to provide back-up vocals. “Nobody’s Daughter.”
Opportunities appear to come up just as often as new sweaty fans. Dead Sara, in addition to Chevelle will also be on tour with the Used. Jimmy Kimmel Live will host the L.A. quartet featuring Siouxsie Medley (Armstrong’s best friend) and bassist Chris Null (Sean Friday). June
Dead Sara promotes their first record through a whirlwind schedule. It was produced by Noah Shain, and distributed by Universal/Fontana via Pocket Kid Records. Shain has collaborated with other rock bands like Skrillex or Atreyu.
Armstrong also hopes to perform at many venues before Dead Sara is featured on Van’s Warped Tour. According to Armstrong’s interview with Rolling Stone magazine Dead Sara is 100% ready.
“It’s like the power of rock and roll, it just frees me,”Armstrong said this to Rolling Stone. “It’s this release, it’s unexplainable, when you’re up there it’s like you’re in a different world and that’s when I feel most like myself. It’s so free and it’s amazing.”
