A talented young lady and her horses rise above the odds to become the best show jumpers in “A New Family Film”A Sunday Horse“” will debut in 2016.

This movie was inspired by Debi Conner’s true story. She is a Florida rider and trainer. While the main events are set in the present time, the story takes place in the 1980s. Debi Walden (her maiden title), is the main character of the film. She is driven and talented and dreams to become an Olympic champion at show jumping. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the resources or the money to train for the top-tier and is unable to purchase the expensive horses she needs to compete at the Olympic level.

Debi overcomes all odds by doing farm chores for the opportunity to train and earn the financial and emotional support of an African American entrepreneur from similar humble beginnings. She purchases several horses without any formal jumping skills and trains them herself. Then she takes the Grand Prix jumping world by storm. Debi and her horses reach the U.S. Olympic team. However, an accident at a training show leaves Debi paralyzed and in a coma. Debi finally makes it happen. She sells her top-prize-winning horse Touch of Class, which she won, to her cotrainer. The horse is taken to the Olympics, where she wins two gold medals for the USA.

Despite the dire prospect of her never riding again, Debi endures months of pain rehabilitation and enters Governor’s Cup at Virginia Horse Show. There, despite ongoing seizures and paralysis, she competes against Touch of Class, which she won.
