The nation’s 99 per cent are now spending more on gas than they used to.

Drivers spend approximately $4 per gallon. Finding ways to save money is key. better gas mileageThis is more critical than ever. Affordable technology is finally solving the problem.

Some auto companies are trying reduce the impact of skyrocketing gas prices by making technology more accessible and improving its efficiency.

Vision Motor Company is preparing for the widespread release of alternative vehicles that use compressed natural gas (CNG) which can reduce fuel costs up to 80 percent. CNG fuel can be used to get natural gas vehicles 45 miles per gallon, which pollutes as little as 90 percent more than conventional gasoline.

Vision chairman Bob Smith said that the new, fuel-efficient sparkplugs, called Pulstar Pulse Plugs, have allowed SEERngv to become mainstream. Pulstar Pulse Plugs’ Enerpulse Precision Compbustion Ignition technology (PCI), increases mileage and reduces hydrocarbon emissions.

“Combustion stability at idle and cold start was also improved,”Smith explained. “VMC is very excited to offer this value-added technology.”

You don’t need to use natural gas vehicles or other advanced technology yet. There are still ways to reduce fuel consumption and increase efficiency.

* Install new spark plugs. Quality spark plugs such as Pulstar Pulse Plugs can improve your car’s performance, including the mileage.

* Choose routes carefully. The shortest route might not be the most efficient for fuel if it is jammed with traffic lights and stoplights. Avoid using traffic lights, but if you must, shift into neutral to give your transmission some breathing room.

* Replace air filters. The air filter doesn’t usually need to be replaced as often as the mechanics recommend, but it is worth keeping an eye on. Filters can last for between 20,000 to 30,000 miles. A clean filter can also improve mileage by up to 10%.

* Drive smoothly. Although you won’t be able to slow down, sudden stops, starts, and jerky driving will reduce fuel economy. You can add up to one third to your gas bill by slamming on the brakes.
