Americans love dancing. Today, Americans love to dance. electronic dance music.

Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Rihanna have begun to incorporate electronic elements into their music — a form of popular European dance and rock.

This new style was popularized in the 80s and 90s, by Duran Duran from Britain and Ace of Base from Sweden. American executives have turned to Europe for new talent signings since then.

Enter Abie Flinstone — a 19-year-old R&B and hip-hop artist from Lommel, Belgium, who is making headlines with her distinct sound.

Flinstone infuses her lyrics and flow with a 90s vibe, but with a millennium twist. Jake Shapiro founder of Big Jake Music New York, agrees.

“The most important business aspect of dance music is a great hook. To that point, you also need artists who are marketable. We believe we have found that in Abie,”Shapiro.

With songs like “Have Dat,” “Love You Like Davao” “Get Outta My Way,”Flinstone believes she’s ready to tackle the music industry.

Flinstone is a rising star who can write and record in her bedroom (which she calls Bedrock). Shapiro says she has the potential to reach as high as she desires.

“Besides being sexy and fun, Abie is cutting-edge with her lyrics and beats,”He stated.

Dance music is becoming more popular in America each year. Cross-over appeal is at an all time high between America and Europe for this genre. Flinstone is now able to take advantage of the brand opportunities that have opened up and record company executives are paying attention, making it easier for her to gain a foothold both in Europe and America.

Seven Arts Pictures (NASDAQ/SAPX) recently purchased the indie music label. The company believes that it can now concentrate on emerging artists like Flinstone.
