People aren’t prone to change. It is difficult to change our habits, even if they are small and can bring us great rewards. Businesses are no different.
Although LED technology has existed for decades, many companies still use metal-halide lighting. In part, this is because LED bulbs didn’t have commercial applications until recently and it was expensive to upgrade current lighting with LEDs.
However, one company wants to increase the profitability of businesses while decreasing their energy use. They are switching from traditional metal halide light bulbs to LED direct-replacement bulb.
OEO Energy Solutions developed an energy-efficient EZ LED lightbulb that does not require any wiring, ballast bypass or electrician. The LED bulbs also contain no mercury, unlike metal halide lighting.
“Simply change bulbs, and your conversion to LED technology is complete. It’s energy savings simplified,”John Einarsen, OEO Energy Solutions “LED direct-replacement [light bulbs] for metal halide [lights] save 68 percent simply by changing bulbs.”
OEO’s EZLED bulbs are a better alternative to metal halide lamps. The Illinois-based energy solution company estimates that there would be a savings of $364 per light annually, which does not include rebates.
One businessman found the changes to be significant.

At the moment, OEO EZ LEDIn most states, rebates are available. The return on investment, before rebates, is less than one-year. Additionally, light bulbs are covered by a five year warranty or 55,000 hours of service.
