In New York City, the first International Consumer Electronics Show was held in June 1967. Since then, thousands have been announced at the annual show. These include the VCR (in 1970), the CD Player (1981), HDTV (1998), 3D HDTV (2009 and Ultra HDTV), Flexible OLED, and driverless car technology (2013).

TV Tech. DISH Network has introduced three new ideas, in addition to the introduction of Ultra HD and 4k TV technology. The SuperJoey expands the capabilities and functionality of a Hopper. It allows users to record and view up to eight shows simultaneously. Wireless Joey allows for installation in areas where coaxial or Ethernet wiring is not possible or desirable, such as above the fireplace or inside the kitchen. Virtual Joey is a hardware-based Joey that can be used with the Sony PlayStation 4 using a Joey App for the PlayStation 3 and select smart TVs.
For home hobbyists. Brother presented the ScanNCut, a revolutionary new home- and hobby-cutting machine with a builtin scanner. It’s the only home and hobby cutting machine that can take an image, photo or hand drawn sketch, scan it and allow you to precisely cut the shapes or outlines you want to create unique, one-of-a-kind scrapbooks, greeting cards, appliqués, quilts, and crafts.

Wearable Technology. The LG Lifeband Touch wristband for tracking your physical activity has a full touch OLED screen. It provides a convenient way for you to see key fitness data, such as distance, speed and calories burned. It allows data to be sent to LG’s smartphone application for tracking and convenience.
The connected car. Audi presented its latest electronic technologies at CES Las Vegas, for the fourth time in a row. Audi Connect services are now available with 4G LTE technology. The Audi stand featured this integration. This technology speeds up data transfer to the car, allowing for information on parking availability, video streaming, and other details.
