According to a Gallup survey, chiropractors are sought out by far more adults than ever thought.
The just-released report shows that the year ended in record numbers. “2015 Gallup-Palmer Inaugural Report: Americans’ Perceptions of Chiropractic,”3.36 million Americans aged 18 or older have turned to chiropractic care for relief from conditions such as neck and back pain.
This is about 63 per cent more than the 20.6million adults previously estimated in smaller studies. It likely means that there are more of them. “chiropractic first”Health experts have been promoting a movement that addresses the problems caused by surgery and addictive drugs.
“Americans who have exposure to chiropractors are more likely to have an opinion of them, and in general those opinions are positive,”Gallup concluded.
The following are some other important findings
* While most patients only head to a doctor of chiropractic when they’re in pain, 31 percent of adults who’ve been treated within the last five years say they prefer regular visits — regardless of whether they’re hurting.
* Those under age 50 are likelier to say a chiropractor would be their first choice for treating back or neck pain.
* So “strongly committed”These users are relatively new and have visited the site an average of 11 times in the past 12 months.
“This groundbreaking report shows Americans are embracing chiropractic as an alternative to other costly and invasive treatments,”Sherry McAllister DC, of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a non-profit organization.
Chiropractors today have at least seven years of post-graduate education in clinical patient management. This is not just for pain relief but also advice on healthy living and increased flexibility.
