Water is vital for health and life. This is a fact that everyone knows. Water is not always the same. For example, ionized alkaline water takes full advantage of science-based hydration.

Scientists can determine hydration or dehydration by measuring blood thickness, also known to as blood viscosity. The thicker your blood gets, the more dehydrated you will be. Chronic dehydration can cause serious health problems. This is why water is so important for our bodies.

A high-pH water produced by ionization results in water that is more effective at reducing blood viscosity, and improving rehydration. This has been proven to be true according to a clinical study.

The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (JISSN), published the results of the study. They used 100 healthy adults (50 men, 50 women) who were aged 25-49 years old. They were randomly assigned to drink standard purified bottled water, or Essentia, which is high-pH, non-ionized alkaline water. The Essentia water was significantly more hydrating than the other leading brand of bottled water.

“These findings underscore Essentia’s superior impact on hydration, important to a variety of lifestyles, and reinforces our commitment to providing a unique, effective, and quality product,”In a statement, the company stated that it was pleased with the response. Essentia is also the only bottled water that appears in the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR), which alerts clinicians to the most recent research on optimal hydration.

The unique ionization method used by Essentia consists of three parts. Water from any source is purified by using micro-filters and reverse osmosis. For a smooth, clean taste, pure alkaline electrolytes like magnesium, calcium and potassium are infused in trace amounts.

From there, bitter-tasting acidic water ions are removed, producing an ionized-9.5-ph-or-higher alkaline water that’s better at rehydrating.

Essentia bottles are completely free of BPA (bisphenol-A and phthalates) and can be recycled anywhere in the United States.
