The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (JISSN), published the results of the study. They used 100 healthy adults (50 men, 50 women) who were aged 25-49 years old. The Essentia water was significantly more hydrating than the other leading brand of bottled water.

The unique ionization method used by Essentia consists of three parts. Water from any source is purified by using micro-filters and reverse osmosis. For a smooth, clean taste, pure alkaline electrolytes like magnesium, calcium and potassium are infused in trace amounts.
From there, bitter-tasting acidic water ions are removed, producing an ionized-9.5-ph-or-higher alkaline water that’s better at rehydrating.
