Many people would do it without hesitation. Helping out a friend or family member who is in need at-home care is the least we can do.

However, caregiving is not an easy task. It can be a difficult transition for both the caregivers and their loved ones to arrange in-home care.

“Hardly a family in America today is immune to the challenges of navigating in-home care for their loved ones,”Michael Newman is the founder and chief executive officer of Always Best Care. It’s one of the most prominent providers of non-medical home care and placement services in the country.

Newman and his team created this website to help caregivers and families navigate this often difficult stage. Always Best CareThe survey was sent to over 5,000 caregivers. To help families get valuable information, the survey addressed keystones in caregiving.

According to survey results, caregivers who provide care for seniors over a cumulative number of millions of hours each year recommend that caregivers set aside their personal time, regardless of their level of experience.

“The physical and emotional toll can be devastating to the caregiver’s health if they don’t manage a life balance in the process,”Dana Rambow is Vice Present of Home Health and Always Best Care.

Rambow suggests individuals who care for someone else “take proactive steps along the way to get respite hours.”She suggests some ideas, such as doing exercise, being social, or just spending time alone to relax. “You need to replenish what you give or the well runs dry,”She spoke.

The survey also encourages families and loved ones to be prepared for this new stage of life. Talk with your family about the future and discuss the responsibilities and roles of loved ones when a caregiver arrives. Finally, prepare and share a care plan with the caregiver.
