Online retailer zulily took National Teacher Appreciation week one step further by recognizing the hard work of educators all over the world. zulilyA series of curated collections will be launched that are inspired by six teachers. The collection was selected through the Thank a Teacher Contest. People from all over the country were invited to submit inspiring stories about a teacher that made a difference in the lives of their students.
There were many stories about teachers showing dedication to their students that the brand received. Stories include one teacher who started a Kindergarten Santa Project to make sure every child got a Christmas present. A teacher who continued to teach even though she was undergoing chemotherapy, because she wanted to be there for her students. “give her life.”
All levels of teachers were eligible to be nominated, from pre-school through 12th grade, with representation from public, private and Head Start schools as well as Montessori, courts school system, homeschools, and other institutions.
“We wanted to bring visibility to everything that teachers do and spotlight a few stories that are emblematic of all teachers,” zulily’s CEO, Darrell Cavens, says.
