Electric cars used to be a science fiction. They were a technology that could reduce our dependence on gas. However, hybrid technologies are not appealing due to rising gas prices.
Today, companies make road-worthy electric cars that are safe and reliable. They can travel at normal speeds and reach normal distances.
What is not normal? How much it costs to maintain an electric car. Electric cars don’t need gas. They don’t need oil changes and air filters. A gas engine car will cost you $13.50 to drive 120 miles. An electric car can run 120 miles on electricity for just $2.20. You can also get federal and state tax credit for electric car owners.
Many technology companies see the potential of lithium-ion batteries technology. These batteries can provide electric cars with long-lasting power. Hybrid Technologies, Inc. builds electric cars and converts existing vehicles into electric motors.
Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB), created one concept vehicle, called the Reaper, to be used for military purposes. The Reaper is capable of handling difficult terrain and can reach speeds up to 85 mph. It can also travel 185 miles without power-ups.
Hybrid Technologies converts also the Mini Cooper and Smart Car, Toyota Yaris as well as the PT Cruiser, Chrysler Crossfire, and Mini Cooper into electric cars. Hybrid Technologies takes out the original gas engine from each vehicle and installs an electrical battery. This gives each vehicle a 120-mile range.
Hybrid Technologies views its battery-management system that uses lithium-ion cells as the key to its financial success. It projects that its lithium-ion battery will last at most 120,000 miles before it needs to be replaced.
Hybrid Technologies provides a guarantee on all converted vehicles. Hybrid Technologies offers a warranty on all of its converted vehicles. If the problem cannot be resolved over the phone, Hybrid Technologies can send a technician to the owners home or ship the vehicle back.
Hybrid Technologies has been gaining attention in the marketplace. The company wants to make an electric Mini Cooper available at Sam’s Club Stores. NASA as well as the Environmental Protection Agency are using technologies developed by Hybrid Technologies.
Oil currently trades at more than $129 per barrel. Hybrid Technologies, Inc. is a strong contender in the green market for lithium-ion technology.
