Millions upon millions of students who worked hard throughout the academic year are preparing for the AP Exams this spring. They will have the chance to earn college credit and placement.
The AP Program provides as much flexibility as possible this year for the AP Exams to meet the needs of both schools and students. Schools across the country will choose whether to give traditional paper-and pencil exams, digital exams, or both. There are three dates on the 2021 AP Exam schedule for each subject, with testing occurring between May and June. Schools may choose to have both at-home and in-person exams. They can also select mixed testing dates.
All AP exams are full-length, no matter if they’re paper-and pencil or digital. AP Exams, as in the past will assess the entire course of a first-year college level course. Colleges will give credit and placement to scores above 3. Students will be able to get college credit and placement by taking AP exams.
The College Board has launched a digital practice and testing app for students taking digital AP Exams at-home or in school as the 2021 AP Exam administration nears. - The application should be downloaded by students and used to practice on the exact device that they will use for testing.
- Students must complete exam setupEach exam should be taken at least 1-3 days in advance.
- Check-in is required for students 30 minutes prior to the start of their digital exam. Students need to be aware of the exact time that the exam starts in their local time zone.
- Students cannot test on a Mac, Windows, or school-managed Chromebook. Managed devices mean that your school has control over the programs installed.
- The testing application prevents students from losing their work even if their Internet goes down.
- Digital exams won’t have any handwritten answers. All answers can be completed directly in the testing app.
- If students are unable to take the test, they will be allowed to request a makeup examination.

AP Daily has more than 21 million views of its full videos since September 2020. AP Daily Live Review sessions will be available on YouTube between April 19 and 29 to assist students in reviewing course material and skills prior to exams. Students are encouraged and encouraged to speak with their teachers about how to best practice for their exams. Teachers may also be able to assign videos to students, and track the students who watch them.
