The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that approximately one in six Americans lives with HIV. chronic kidney disease(CKD). Support and help are available for those who are suffering from this disease, or are caring for someone with it. The Renal Support Network (RSN), a non-profit organization that focuses on patient-to-patient support, has a program called RSN HOPEline. This is a toll-free, patient-run telephone service that provides support for those with CKD as well as their caregivers.
The ability to speak to someone who understands, or a patient who has successfully lived with the disease, gives callers valuable insights.
