College application and the college prep testing can be stressful for families and students. The application process can be stressful and tests such as the SAT/ACT can be a significant part. Only 30% of public schools have college preparation advisors.

Here are some tips to help you succeed on the new SAT
*Read more. The new SAT includes word problems in math, passages in writing, and text to be read before composing an essay. You may also need to understand multiple passages in order to get the correct answers.
*Focus in class. A lot of the SAT’s content comes from the classroom. Many passages in reading and math draw on the context of science and social studies. It is therefore important to be attentive in all subjects, to recognize connections and to apply familiar concepts and ideas to new situations.
*Know your tough spots. The initial diagnostic test is able to identify where struggling students need help. These skills can be a top priority in test prep sessions.
