U.S. Olympic gymnast Nastia LiukinHe was raised in a world with balance beams, dismounts, and many other things.

“Both my parents were celebrated Olympic and world champion gymnasts in Russia,”Liukin: “They came to the U.S. and started coaching gymnastics when I was a baby.

“They couldn’t pay a babysitter so I was there with them at the gym. I used to jump on the bars and imitate the other children. I also learned how to copy their floor routines and did them at the side of the gymnasium. This is how I got started.”

Liukin competed in her first Nationals at the age of 12 -; winning gold medals in the junior division of the 2003 U.S. National Championships. But while training, she sustained an ankle injury that later required surgery.

That’s when she started researching chiropractic care, and found Dr. Vince Scheffler.

“Nastia visited me in 2010” Dr. Scheffler recalls. “We talked about her wellness goals and I started treatments that included chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, and stabilization exercises. This helped her get back to her optimum health.”

Liukin retired from competitive sport after a fall off the bars during the 2012 Olympic trials, but still maintains her health -; and “”Balance” – with chiropractic care. Visit www.balance.com for more information. www.yes2chiropractic.org.
