An increasing number of Americans are able to receive religious information online.
Americans no longer use the internet for entertainment, news, and communication. Internet has revolutionized the way many people receive and distribute religious material, and also conduct faith-based activities.
Pew Internet Research polled over 1,000 religious organisations in the early 2000s. It found that 83 per cent of them believed the internet had improved their congregation’s life. 63 per cent said that e mail helped them connect better with the surrounding community.
In 2004, nearly two-thirds reported that the same research company had done the same. “wired”Many Americans have used the internet for different religious and spiritual purposes. With the continued development of online technologies like interactive streaming video players, this number could increase.
WhiteBlox’s chairman and chief executive officer, Greg Demetriades says that one group from which his company can benefit is large religious groups.
“Broadcasting faith-based services online is a fantastic way to provide 24/7 spiritual support and develop an even stronger sense of community,” said Demetriades. “In addition to live broadcasts of weekly services, an entire video library of services and workshops can be made available on-demand.”
Consider that religious services can be social gatherings, so it may seem strange to have an Internet connection with such a close friend.
WhiteBlox’s online video solution includes chat rooms and viewer surveys. This allows viewers to experience an increased level of interactivity and community building that was not possible before.
The Internet also provides a platform for donations, which is one of the most important functions in any religious organization. Some religious groups may find online broadcasting to be the most precious gift. It allows them to broadcast live and on-demand services, as well as allowing for easy online donations.
