As much as we love our smiles and gums, new research shows that many Americans are not doing enough to care for their gums and teeth. This puts them at risk of developing periodontal disease which affects approximately one in two adults over the age of 30.
A big no-no? A third of respondents said they eat a snack at bedtime after brushing their teeth.
One plus is that respondents admit to flossing more often. Healthy gums and teeth are essential. American Academy of Periodontology (AAP)It is recommended to brush and floss twice daily, visit your periodontist regularly for a complete periodontal evaluation and to love the gums you’re with.
