It can be difficult to find family time these days. Children and parents are constantly distracted by activities. INSP is a family-friendly TV network that wants to change this. One network is trying to breathe fresh air in an increasingly polluted TV environment.
INSP has been building its alternative, one show at a.m. “Destination Fridays,”This trio of programs is appropriate for all audiences. “State Plate,”The newest original series, featuring Taylor Hicks (of American Idol fame), joins INSP’s Friday lineup. Each episode features the state’s cuisine. Hicks visits farms and markets, festivals, festivals, and other unusual locations as he prepares a plate with the most popular foods of each state.
You can expect to learn about the history behind Texas’ food traditions, such as chili in Texas, Georgia’s peach treats, Idaho’s potatoes, and Idaho’s crab cakes.
Joining “State Plate”Fridays: “Handcrafted America” Jill Wagner, host, travels the country to introduce viewers to talented, unique and entertaining artisans who make crafts and arts the old-fashioned, hand-made way.
“Destination Fridays”Every week kicks off with “Cash Cowboys.”Scott Cozens (a journeyman electrician who has become a lawyer) and Sheldon Smithens (an antiques dealer and auctioneer of the third generation), are featured on the show. The pair, who wear their cowboy hats as well as Western gear, rummage through sheds, barns, basements and attics in search for hidden treasure. In the hopes of making a profit, they will purchase anything from motorbikes to folk-art memorabilia.
Cowboys aren’t just interested in the money. They also have a passion about the past and the thrill of the chase. The producers of “American Pickers,”The series has been well received by INSP’s core family audience and is sure to entertain antique and vintage fans. “picker”Shows are also available.
