Concrete masonry is often thought of as a foundation or building block for a house or building. However, concrete masonry’s aesthetic value is being recognized by more and more people.
Concrete masonry is a strong and durable material that has been gaining popularity through landscaping design and construction.
To give her home an extra visual appeal, Tracey Weber (a Wisconsin homebuilder) used concrete masonry veneer. Weber used concrete brick masonry to imitate the appearance of quarried stones, including pillars and arches.
His home captured the Old World feel that he wanted, and it was also awarded the Excellence in Masonry Award 2006 primarily because of its visual appeal.
However, the design did have its practical side. Exterior is very sturdy and needs little maintenance. “It’s maintenance-free,” said Weber. “It makes everything look better, and you don’t have to paint it every few years.”
Concrete masonry is also being seen in backyards across the country – a trend that can easily be attributed its strength, aesthetic appeal, and cost-effectiveness.
“Concrete masonry landscaping materials have put fantastic outdoor living spaces within the financial reach of regular families,” said Skip Coulter, landscape designer.
Concrete masonry is a great option for outdoor living spaces. It can be used to create interlocking pavers, which can mimic natural stone, and can take on different shapes and colors. Concrete masonry is also durable and can withstand the elements.
“I like the versatility of concrete masonry landscaping,”Chris Exley, Exley’s Landscape Service. “Curved lines are more pleasing than the straight lines one gets with conventional decking. The system allows us to be more creative. There are so many textures, colors and patterns to choose from.”
Concrete masonry is a great option for adding flair to your home.
