Christi J. Cook, Harbor Beach, Mich., served four years in Army and six in U.S. Air Force. She left the military proud and devout, but struggling with a body that was ravaged and a civilian existence she hadn’t known.
Cook had always wanted to be a soldier since she was young, and her desire to do so is ingrained in her genes, which date back to her Revolutionary War-era ancestors. She wasn’t ready to confront the state of her body after she had left the military.
Cook was in the Air Force when she was hit by a scud ballistic missile. This caused her to be exposed to a toxic nerve agent. The young woman in her 20s suffered severe physical consequences, including heart arrhythmia, memory problems, bladder irregularity and bladder irregularity. She also had gastrointestinal issues, arthritis and migraines.
Cook could not sleep for more than 45 mins at a stretch, take prescription medication or sit in a car for extended periods of time without suffering from debilitating pain. Cook found a solution to her problems only a year later.
“I was on a lot of antibiotics, a lot of pain killers, and none of it really worked. A lot of it masked the pain, but it was just like a boomerang. It came back and it usually came back worse,”She explained that she is now a mother to two children at 42 years old. “I tried so many things, and then when I started taking medical foods Sentra PM and AM, it was the first time in decades that I had any energy.”
SentraPM and Sentra AM medical foods are FDA-regulated and prescription-only. They provide precursors to neurotransmitters necessary for restorative sleep while reducing fatigue and managing the higher nutritional needs of fibromyalgia.
Targeted Medical Pharma, Inc. has developed medical foods that help patients meet their increased nutritional needs for chronic diseases such as pain syndromes, peripheral nervepathy, hypertension, obesity, sleep disorders, and sleep disorders.
Cook had multiple conditions by the time Cook found a solution. She was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), minor depressive disorder, fibromyalgias, traumatic arthritis, and migraines.
“I get hyper-vigilant. I don’t like to be in a crowd, I kind of panic in a crowd. Even going to church or grocery shopping was extremely difficult,”Cook described her PTSD symptoms and how they grew, she said.
Cook’s insomnia proved to be the most difficult — until she discovered medical food. Cook claimed that the tension started to ease in less than a week. It’s now her only medication and she recommends it for everyone. Find out more about Rx-only medicinal foods www.targetedmedicalpharma.com.
