Millions of young people will network online and attend events in 2008, which runs from November 17th to 23.

What will connect over 70 business-minded youth in more than 70 countries to one another? Global Entrepreneurship Week was established by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. This event aims to connect and inspire people. Participating organizations include governments, non-profits and schools as well as teachers from thousands of other organizations.

Commonwealth Capital Advisors (an American investment banking advisory firm that helps entrepreneurs worldwide) will give away 1,000,000 eBooks on how to raise capital for a business. Chile will host a 10k race. The Netherlands will launch the week at Euronext, a pan European stock exchange.

“We need engaged citizens who understand the value of rewarding innovation – from lowering the cost of doing business, to pursuing national policies that accelerate the development and adoption of new technologies in energy, health and other fields,”Dr. Susan Hockfield is president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

But the week won’t only help future entrepreneurs in markets from fashion to engineering. Many events are intended to stimulate discussion on issues such as poverty, climate change, sustainability and other matters that impact the business world. The organizations hope to harness the entrepreneurial spirit and idealistic spirit of the next generation to solve problems, such as creating sustainable economic growth globally.

This week will allow young people from Ecuador, Afghanistan and the U.S. to exchange ideas and build a network. Open and international communication is essential for solving today’s and tomorrow’s problems in a globalized world.

Gordon Brown, British Prime Minister, stated that: “By unleashing the creativity and ideas of young people all over the world, we can create the successful products and businesses of tomorrow.
