– It’s back to school!
While kids may not be happy with their routines, moms will most likely be thrilled to get organized, prepared, and back on track.
After a summer filled with sleeping in, staying up later, relaxing at the pool and other activities, it can be hard to set a schedule.
Here are some great tips for you and your family if you feel like this.
* Breakfast is essential. Both moms and children experience inconsistency during summer. A consistent breakfast time is a good way to get everyone back on track. It is important to remind children that if they skip breakfast, lunchtime at school feels like forever away. You can make breakfast quick and easy with cereal, milk, apples, bananas or nut butter. Malt-O-Meal cereals are available in over 30 varieties, so there’s something for everyone.
* Order the school supplies online. It is difficult to find the right item in four different shops. Who has the time? Save time and money by ordering online. Many shops offer back-to school sales. Everything will be delivered right to your doorstep.
* Over the weekend, get groceries and meal prep done for the week. Make sure to chop up vegetables, make soups and casseroles for freezing, and then assign portions to the containers.
* Reevaluate what your kids can do or contribute to. Children are capable of helping: depending on their age, they may be able to make lunches and snacks, wash laundry, and take out the trash.
Sometimes there are also good lessons to be learned. One example is the free recycling of Malt-O-Meal cereal boxes from breakfast, in partnership to TerraCycle, an NJ-based recycling company. The Malt-O-Meal Cereal Bag Recycling Program will ensure that your food doesn’t end-up in the garbage. Plus, the bonus? It’s an excellent way for children to get involved.
Consider what your children and family can do for you during the school year. They can do so much more than you realize. Get organized and plan ahead so that the rest of your year is easy.
